Bloomingfoods is a member-owned co-op grocery providing Southern Indiana with healthful, high quality, and environmentally sound products at a fair price. We promote locally grown, nutritious and non-chemically produced foods, emphasizing consumer education, community involvement and excellent customer service.

We operate three stores: our original location just off Kirkwood Avenue near the campus of Indiana University (our Downtown store); a 7000 square foot store on the East side of town (Bloomingfoods East); and our new neighborhood grocery just west of the Downtown Courthouse Square (Bloomingfoods Near West).

All of our grocery stores offer natural, local and organic fare, local dairy products (including vat-pasteurized milk and raw cheese), quality meats and seafood, specialty foods from around the world, Fair Trade coffee, tea, chocolate, snacks, and gifts. We have in-store and outdoor seating, with a prepared foods department offering catering and special order service. The East and West stores feature self-service cafés with hot bars, salad bars and fresh food to take back home.

Bloomingfoods has long been committed to supporting local farmers. We provided seed money to jumpstart the Local Growers Guild, a cooperative of local farmers and producers. Our staff are committed to offering local products in the stores. We partner with the City of Bloomington as a sponsor of Local Farm Tours. For many years we have offered concessions at the Bloomington Farmers' Market and have hosted a smaller market in the parking lot of our East store. The Bloomington Tuesday Market is located in the street right outside our west store.

We are very actively involved with other local businesses and social service and arts organizations. We provide food for the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival, held each September in the heart of Bloomington. Throughout our history, Bloomingfoods has always been able to bloom and grow in new directions, laying the groundwork for an even more prosperous, sustainable and community-connected future.
